Mariana Sesma (BR) is an independent curator and cultural manager based in Munich, focusing on themes of belonging, playfulness, care, and decolonial art practices. She is keen on collaborating with other professionals and, over the years, has curated a number of exhibitions, including The Essentials, a photo exhibition presented in Munich’s subway stations, and the solo exhibitions We Were on the Same Branch by Betül Aydin and The Voice of the Daughter by Rusha (Munich). She has also curated the group shows BeLonging at Platform (Munich) and Crossed References: Marginality and Resistance (Brazil). More recently, she curated Pelagial by Nina Radelfahr and Mariella Kerscher. Sesma holds a degree in Visual Arts and an MBA in Cultural Management. She has worked in various roles at prominent Brazilian art institutions, including the São Paulo Biennial. She also leads workshops for artists on topics such as Artist Statements, Portfolio Reviews, and Art Residencies.
